NAIDOC Local Grants - 2024

ClosedGrant Closed: 22nd of February 2024 - 3:00 pm Value: Up to $50,000 Run By: National Indigenous Australians Agency Further Information: https://www.grants.gov.au/Go/Show?GoUuid=3883e1ca-9bcc-4a97-b63b-cbd1801869dd

This grant opportunity is to provide a funding contribution to the cost of running a NAIDOC Week activity or event held between July and October 2024. As this grant opportunity is not intended to cover the full cost of running an activity or event, organisations must have other sources of co-contribution funding, which may include in-kind contributions.

The activity or event must promote the annual National NAIDOC Week theme, and support the Australian Government’s commitment to celebrate, support, and raise awareness of First Nations histories and cultures within the wider community. An activity or event being run by a non-First Nations organisation must have support from the local First Nations  community/ies.

NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for First Nations Australians to celebrate their histories, cultures and achievements and to connect with community and Country. NAIDOC Week also allows non-Indigenous Australians to celebrate, connect with, and learn from, Australia’s First Nations people

There are two funding Categories for this grant opportunity:

  • Small Scale Grants – funding of $10,000 or less. A demand driven eligibility-based assessment process with consideration of funding preference priorities will be used. Early learning centres, schools and universities have lower funding caps applied, depending on their geographic location.
  • Larger Scale Grants – funding of between $10,001 to $50,000 for activities / events (which may be delivered in multiple communities or locations), where the grant represents value with relevant money.3 This will be a competitive process with a combined eligibility and selection criterion assessment process, together with consideration of funding preference priorities and comparison against other applications in this Category
