Australian Heritage Grants - 2023-24

The Australian Heritage Grants program is the Australian Government’s flagship heritage-funding program. It provides ongoing support to protect and promote National Heritage-listed places.

The program provides $5.3 million per annum, with a call for applications each year.

National Heritage-listed places that have been recognised for their natural, Indigenous or historic heritage values are eligible to apply.

The program aims to:

  • improve recognition, conservation, preservation and access to National Heritage-listed places
  • increase community engagement and raise awareness of listed places.

The Australian Heritage Grants program provides funding for projects that do one or more of the following:

  • maintain, protect and conserve the National Heritage values of one or more listed places
  • improve access to one or more listed places
  • improve engagement with, and awareness of, the values for which one or more listed places was listed.
