COMPACT supports partnerships and collaboration between community, non-government, youth, sports, arts/media, educational, industry and other organisations by providing grant funding for innovative, evidence-based community projects.

The proven COMPACT Program recognises that socially cohesive communities are more resilient communities in the face of adversity and crisis. Whether dealing with bushfires, floods, terrorism, a global pandemic or overseas conflicts, more connected communities are more resilient to, and recover more quickly from, adversity.

Successful applications will ideally bring together partners or consortia with the demonstrated experience, expertise and capacity to engage and effect real positive change in young people (aged between 12-30), families and communities within a community resilience and conflict resolution frame.

Eligible organisations can apply for funding between $100,000 to $200,000 per year for two to four years.

Grant funding for sustainable education and life skill development programs designed to help and support disadvantaged young Australians under the age of 25.

Through a program focused on Empowerment and Education and Outreach and Support, Ansvar has reached and made a genuine difference to the lives of thousands of young Australians in need.

Ansvar’s Community Education Program provides grants up to $50,000 for programs supporting Australian youth which fall under two categories:

  • Empowerment and Education - Programs within this category must provide opportunities to develop positive values that lead to healthy lifestyle choices and a positive contribution to our community.
  • Outreach Programs - Programs within this category must support youths who are at risk or are already experiencing difficulties (such as drug and/or alcohol abuse) through rehabilitation and/or skills training.

The electric vehicle (EV) fleets incentive (the incentive) is a payment scheme that helps eligible organisations procure battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and optional smart chargers. Funding is designed to cover part of purchase price and operating cost gap between a BEV and an equivalent internal combustion engine vehicle.

The Kick-start funding option provides a simple application process for organisations looking to procure 10 or fewer BEVs and optional smart chargers. A fixed incentive is provided for different types of vehicles, as outlined below:

  • Passenger vehicles and SUVs: $5,000 per vehicle and $1,200 per optional smart charging port
  • LCVs up to 4.5 tonnes Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM), excluding light trucks: $5,000 per vehicle and and $1,200 per optional smart charging port
  • Light trucks up to 4.5 tonnes GVM: $10,000 per vehicle and and $3,000 per optional smart charging port

Multi-Year Partnership Grant Closes: 9th of September 2024 Value: Up to $75,000 each year for 3 years Run By: Schools Plus Further Information: https://www.schoolsplus.org.au/for-schools/multi-year-partnership/

The Multi-Year Partnership opportunity is for longer-term projects (over three years) that require an extended implementation phase to lead to deeper, longer-term change for children and young people and the school community.

Over the course of the three-year program, schools will have the opportunity to work closely with the team of education professionals to help schools achieve their long-term objectives linked to their overall school improvement plan.

Examples of successful Multi-Year projects:

  • Building industry connections and career pathways for students via mentorship, workplace encounters and a community engagement roadmap.
  • Design and dissemination of a Passport for Learning tool across a network of special schools to provide individualised support to learners.
  • Implementation of Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) to address barriers for regional-based families in accessing effective intervention.

Single Year Partnership Grant Closes: 9th of September 2024 Value: Up to $60,000 Run By: Schools Plus Further Information: https://www.schoolsplus.org.au/for-schools/single-year-partnership/

The Single Year Partnership opportunity is for short-term projects (over one year) that aim to improve outcomes for children and young people in specific subject areas or address specific challenges for targeted groups. These might be short-term focused but have significant impact within this timeframe.

Examples of successful Single-Year projects:

  • Oral Indigenous language training for teachers, parents, and students to support students’ literacy.
  • Using multi-tiered support systems to identify students at risk of anxiety or depression and targeted, evidence-based mental health interventions in the school setting.
  • Staff training and development to embed trauma-informed practices in the classroom, manage emergent behaviour and create collaborative support plans for students.

This grant supports families in purchasing life-changing equipment to increase physical development, independence, and social inclusion. The primary aim of the We Move Grant is to provide mobility equipment that is not easily available through statutory services.

The details of the grant are different to the previous mobility grant so please have a look at the guidelines to see if you are able to apply. It is also recommended you speak with your support person (e.g. medical professional, case worker, teacher, OT) to ensure they are able to assist you with some key sections of the application.

The Supporting Spontaneous Volunteers Program is aimed at supporting communities and volunteers to be better prepared, supported, coordinated and mobilised to respond to disaster events.

Spontaneous or Informal Volunteers are individuals or groups of people who offer their assistance during and/or after an emergency who are unaffiliated with any part of the existing official emergency management response and recovery system.

The target group for projects funded under the Program are Informal Volunteers who may operate as individual spontaneous volunteers or as part of an emergent group of people who come together to respond to a particular challenge.

Projects must address a minimum of two (2) Key Activity Types:

  • Equipment
  • Training & Knowledge
  • Planning
  • Community Engagement
